MICROSPACESmain project for semester topic "Urban Nature"
05:40 min, splitscreen video or installation, 2021
MICROSPACES is a split screen video installation that plays in a loop. The work explores the small hidden worlds within our home that we so often overlook. A puddle under the bathtub that has slowly filled with water over the years and has now become home to countless tiny creatures. Or the stagnant water in our flower pots that attracted small creatures and is now teeming with them there. Not visible to the naked eye, protozoa, paramecium, water fleas and small worms are only made visible under the microscope upon closer inspection. A new world opens up. Micro spaces that otherwise remain hidden from us.
