The workshop will be held in English.
Masquerade is a method of exploring the identity by its concealing and transforming. Masquerade as a collective practice can expand boundaries and generate new utopias. Masquerade offers various tools like cross-dressing and cosplay among others.
During the workshop we will examine video works and texts dealing with the topic. We will look into ritualistic aspects of masquerade; its political and social commentary; and the digital masquerade. Together with a theoretical input there are practical exercises in form of games, writing practice and movement.
